Art made just for your space
to enhance your relationship with God
Nothing speaks to the beauty of God like cheaply made plastic statues from China or Italy. Oh, wait. I don't claim to be Michelangelo or Bernini, but I make art that is beautiful in its own way. I draw on the full tradition of Western art and distill it into something approachable and homely.

Homely might not seem like the best adjective for art, but it's important for me that my pieces be fit for homes, chapels, and churches, for daily human use, not museums. I want them to be beautiful, to lift the heart and mind to God, while still being humble. I don't smooth out every chisel mark or strive for perfection. I'm not God.

Woodcarver. Painter. Illustrator. Dad.I started carving wood to make swords and shields for my kids. Toys. Then I got more serious and made more swords and shields. Bigger, this time. And then some crucifixes. And some relief carvings. And some statues. And then started painting and illustrating and illuminating and getting into everything. The world needs more good stuff, and if no one with proper talent will do it, by gum, I will.

Carvings, paintings, and drawings, oh my!Yes, that was an Oxford comma. They're necessary. So too is art necessary. We should be surrounded by beauty as a foretaste of Heaven, not least in our church sanctuaries, and in our domestic sanctuaries, too. I'm here to make churches, chapels, or plain blank walls more beautiful. I'd love to take your commission and work with you to see the vision come to life. |
